Diversity in Film and TV

Diverse Cymru is a leading Welsh equality charity. We have been commissioned by the Welsh Government to conduct independent research into diversity in film and TV.

The project aims to increase understanding and awareness of under-representation in the industry. We will be gathering the views from members of the public as well as experts in the field.

We are looking at barriers and solutions to any career in the film and TV industries in Wales for:

  • Black and Minority Ethnic people
  • Disabled people
  • Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people
  • People of different religions or beliefs
  • Women
  • Older people
  • Young people

We are keen to hear your views, experiences, and ideas as well as those of individuals across Wales and of the organisations who work with them.

We would be grateful if you could promote the video interviews and surveys below to your contacts in Wales and any related organisations.

We would also like to hear your own views, experiences and any solutions. Please fill in the short survey:

We will also be filming informal interviews with people with a wide range of backgrounds, skills, roles and abilities. The aim of these interviews will be to talk about the personal experiences and difficulties faced by individuals in the industry, and how they think these types of situations could be improved in future.

We’d be more than happy to chat with you and answer any questions that you may have.
