Choosing Wisely Wales is a movement to encourage open conversations between patients and their clinicians to make decisions together about the right care for the individual.
We want to make sure that healthcare conversations and decisions will be informed by good evidence and responsive to what is important to the patient.
Choosing Wisely Wales supports patients to make decisions about their care to help avoid tests and treatments that are unlikely to benefit them or might even be harmful.
Come along to this session and find out:
- How patients can be encouraged to take a greater part in decision making
- How clinicians can be helped by patients to share decision making
- Get a better understanding of the Choosing Wisely movement and share your ideas on how to improve conversations with clinicians.
- Share your ideas on how decision making in consultations improved and how Choosing Wisely Wales can be more effective.
Choosing Wisely Wales is the Welsh arm of an international movement promoting wise choices in healthcare with a particular focus on shared decision-making.
Choosing Wisely is a clinician-led initiative and as such is promoted by the Wales Academy of Medical Royal Colleges representing all the medical practice. The Academy of Medical Royal Colleges in Wales is leading the Welsh Choosing Wisely initiative in partnership with the Board of Community Health Councils in Wales and Public Health Wales.
