Hours: 37 hours per week with 28 days annual leave

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who is looking to expand their programming knowledge, is a fast learner and can work across several disciplines.

Based in Cardiff, this is a busy role where you will provide system and technical support for our bespoke software systems that are developed and managed in-house and used by our employees and third parties as Software as a Service.

Job Title: Senior Executive Officer (SEO Grade)

Salary: £39,310 – £47,000 (full time equivalent) – pay award pending.  Please note, starting salary will normally be offered at the minimum of the band, and will be pro rated based on your working hours.

Duration: Permanent

Welsh Language: We work in both Welsh and English and many of our stakeholders are bilingual. For this post Welsh language skills (verbal and written) are desirable.

Location: The role will be based in Anchor Court, Keen Road, Cardiff, CF24 5JW. We’re currently working remotely due to COVID-19 restrictions. As these restrictions ease, we’re exploring informal hybrid working arrangements subject to business needs and agreement with your manager. This role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas.

Work hours: Minimum 15 hours per week, maximum 18.5 hours per week (days to be agreed), excluding breaks.

Conservation Officer

3.5 days per week, fixed term contract to 31st March 2023, Salary £24,255 pro rata

Buglife Cymru is seeking to appoint a part-time Conservation Officer to deliver pollinator projects in South Wales – creating new wildflower-rich habitats for bees and other pollinating insects, engaging local communities in nature’s recovery, and providing training opportunities to help people get to know the wildlife on their doorstep.

We are looking for an engaging and enthusiastic person who is able to work as part of a small team. This is an exciting time to join Buglife Cymru as we expand our invertebrate conservation work in Wales.

A keen interest in outreach and education is essential along with an understanding of pollinators and their conservation priorities. Excellent communication and engagement skills are vital to the success of this role as you will be delivering workshops, talks and leading bug walks. Experience of working with project partners, members of the public, community groups, volunteers and landowners is required. Project management and budgetary experience is desirable.

The role will be based in our Cardiff office, although you will be required to work from home initially due to Covid 19 restrictions. This is a fixed term contract until 31st March 2023, based on 3.5 days per week however, there is potential for the number of contracted hours to increase during this period dependent on Buglife securing additional funding. A flexible approach to the working pattern will be considered for the successful candidate.
